I need a life!

One thing I am learning is that I cannot control others; especially if they don't want to be controlled.  Lo is feeling upset over my constant nagging about his health.  I left the house today to see a movie with a friend and when I returned home, I asked what he ate.  "Two hot dogs", was his reply.  I started to steam... here I have low sodium soup, sauce, baked chicken, cut up veggies and fruits in the fridge and he eats something that he KNOWS has a ton of sodium in it.  Not to mention the sodium in the bread.  I lost it and told him that he needed to get on the treadmill because he apparently isn't taking the doctor seriously at this point.  The hair on the back of his neck stood up.  I could tell I was upsetting him.  I guess if I switched places I would be miffed if someone kept badgering me.  However, I'm not the one at risk of dying here.  If he doesn't make a lifestyle change, Lo won't be around to grow old with me.

I decided to walk the dog (the collie) and took Jasper for a mile walk.  Then, after dropping Jasper off, I took the Newfoundland, Millie and the Yorkie, Spike for their walk.  With my back pain, right now it is difficult to walk all three.  They do great when I split them up.  I am feeling very motivated because the scale this morning showed that I have already lost 7 pounds of water.  I actually am able to see defined ankles on my body too and not "cankles" like I have always had.  I am ecstatic.

Earlier, when I went out with my friend, we stopped for lunch.  I am literally afraid to eat anything now for fear that my ankles will take over my body again.  As I looked at the menu, I couldn't find anything I could eat.  I saw a spinach/strawberry/blueberry side salad so I asked for that.  I also requested an avocado and provolone cheese sandwich on whole grain bread.  The lunch filled me up and I was satisfied for hours.  I didn't get popcorn in the movie and bought a tea instead.  I am feeling very determined to lose all of this weight I have been carrying around on my frame for years.  So far, so good for me...  Lo has to decide for himself that this is important to him.  I am getting tired of fighting with him.  I love him and want him to see the seriousness of the situation.  He unfortunately, has to do this himself.  I can't force him.
